I issued 250/1000/1500 credentials - why can't I downgrade to a lower credential limit?
I issued 250/1000/1500 credentials - why can't I downgrade to a lower credential limit?
If you've already issued more credentials than a lower-tier plan allows, you won't be able to downgrade until your annual credential limit resets.
For example, if your current plan allows 2,000 credentials and you've already issued 1,500, you can't switch to a plan with a 1,000 or 250 credential limit.
Your annual limit resets once a year on your registration anniversary. So, if you registered on April 9, 2025, your credential count will reset to 0 on April 9, 2026.

If you run out of credentials, you’ll need to upgrade your plan to increase the limit. The upgrade will be processed on a prorated basis, meaning any unused time from your current subscription will be credited toward the new plan.
Will changing my plan affect the credentials I’ve already issued?
Will changing my plan affect the credentials I’ve already issued?
No. Changing or canceling your subscription does not impact credentials that have already been issued. They will remain active and accessible for both you and your recipients.

If you decide to cancel after upgrading or downgrading, your plan will remain active until the end of the billing cycle. You can learn more about the cancellation process in our How to cancel your subscription article.
Can I change my subscription mid-cycle?
Can I change my subscription mid-cycle?
Yes! You can upgrade or downgrade your subscription at any point during your billing cycle. Certifier will always apply prorated pricing to ensure you only pay for what you use.
I just renewed or upgraded my subscription - why didn’t my credential limit reset?
I just renewed or upgraded my subscription - why didn’t my credential limit reset?
Credential limits do not reset with each payment or upgrade. They are tied to your annual usage window, which starts on the day you initially subscribed (or last reset your limit by starting a new cycle). Upgrading your plan will increase your available limit, but it won’t start a new annual cycle.
