Why are the shares important?
Digital certificates can do more than reward achievements - they can become powerful marketing tools. When a recipient shares your credentials on LinkedIn, it can attract new learners, drive trust, and promote your organization organically.
🖊️ The results when it comes to sharing can vary significantly. Some issuers see higher engagement, while others get fewer shares.
That’s because share rates depend on multiple factors:
What helps:
A clear, professional certificate design
Well-branded credential pages and emails
Easy sharing options and social media prompts
What also matters (but is outside our control):
The value or recognition of your course/event,
How engaged your audience is,
The industry you’re in (some are more share-prone than others),
How established your brand is.
With the right setup, branding, and messaging, you can increase the shares and turn your certificates into growth drivers.
In this article, we’ll walk you through everything you can do inside Certifier to maximize your results - step by step.
1. Complete your issuer details
This is the foundation of your branding. Certificates link back to your issuer info, so it needs to be filled out completely.
Visit the Issuer Settings and take a look at the General Information tab (direct link here). There, make sure to fill out:
Issuer Name - Provide the name of the organization under which you wish to distribute credentials.
Description - Write a few words about your organization to let people know what you specialize in. This description will be displayed on each credential page under your organization’s name.
Support Email - Enter the preferred email address your recipients can use to contact you regarding changes or problems with their credential.
LinkedIn Company ID - Providing the Linkedin Company ID ensures that all certificates your recipients add to their LinkedIn profiles will have your organization automatically selected as an issuer.
💡 To find your LinkedIn Company ID, open your company’s profile being logged in as an admin, and copy the numbers before “/admin” in the URL.
2. Use the Design Builder to create professional, eye-catching certificates
Recipients are more likely to share a certificate that looks polished and personalized.
Use custom attributes to personalize the credentials,
Add a signature, logo, and dates,
Keep the layout clean and readable,
Add a QR code to link to your verification page or course website - QR codes allow anyone with a shared or downloaded certificate to verify it instantly.
(QR codes are available on Professional plan or higher)

3. Make sure to fill out Enhanced Descriptions for your groups
Every credential you issue in Certifier belongs to a group, and each group includes its own customizable enhanced description. This section is incredibly valuable because it helps you communicate the story behind your credential - who issued it, what it’s for, and why it matters.
The enhanced description appears publicly in the digital wallet. It gives viewers (including potential employers or clients) additional context and builds trust.
Use it to explain:
What your organization does,
What the credential certifies (e.g., course completion, skills mastered, event attended),
Any relevant background or achievements tied to the certificate.
4. Personalize the certificate delivery email
👑 Custom Email Templates are available for our Professional and Advanced plan users.
The email that delivers the certificate can make or break engagement.
Custom email templates let you:
Use your brand voice and tone,
Explain the value of the certificate,
Prompt the recipient to share it,
Link to your social media or next learning opportunity.

5. Use a custom sender for emails
👑 Custom Senders are available for our Professional and Advanced plan users.
Emails sent from a recognizable address are more likely to land in the inbox—and be opened. Certifier allows you to add and verify your own sender email address, to match your organization's branding and increase credibility!

6. Enable expiration reminders
👑 Expirable Credentials are available for our Professional and Advanced plan users.
If you're using Expiration dates, you should also consider using Expiration Reminder Emails. Automatic emails sent before expiration can increase certificate opens - and even shares.
Remind recipients their certificate is about to expire,
Suggest retaking a course or enrolling in a new one,
Re-engage your audience.

7. Add Premium Branding to your certificate pages
👑 Premium Branding is available as a paid add-on in our Professional plan and is included in the Advanced plan.
A well-branded credential page increases trust and makes recipients more likely to share. With Premium Branding, you can:
Add your logo to the header and footer,
Customize the colors and layout,
Add social media icons (LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, etc.),
Link to your website or courses.

8. Set up a custom domain
👑 Custom Domain is available as a paid add-on in our Professional plan and is included in the Advanced plan.
Instead of hosting your credentials under a generic credsverse.com
domain, you can use your own - such as: certificates.yourcompany.com
This helps:
Strengthen your brand identity,
Improve trust and deliverability,
Make links more memorable and clickable.

9. Use your Issuer Profile to centralize your credentials
👑 Issuer's Portal is available for our Advanced plan users.
The Issuer's Portal is your public profile on Certifier - a fully branded and customizable space where you can display your organization, credentials, and all the recipients you’ve certified.
Helps recipients find and verify their certificates,
Showcases your organization as an active credential issuer,
Reinforces trust and professionalism,
Helps potential clients discover your offerings.
Instead of showing samples of your work, you can simply share your Issuer’s Portal and let potential recipients and stakeholders browse through all your credentialing activities in one place!
Conclusion
Boosting engagement and social sharing of your certificates isn’t just about luck—it’s about setting things up for success. By taking the time to personalize your issuer profile, fill in important details, and use Certifier’s features to their fullest, you increase the chances that your recipients will proudly share their achievements.
Every view, click, and share helps build your brand’s visibility and reputation. Whether you're just getting started or fine-tuning your process, remember: small steps can lead to big results! 🚀
