👑 Custom Domain is included in the Advanced plan.

Introduction

If you want to deliver a seamless and fully branded experience to your recipients, setting up a custom domain is a great place to start.

With it, your credentials will be hosted under your own domain - like certificates.yourcompany.com - helping you boost trust and maintain a consistent brand presence.

In this guide, we’ll walk you through each step of the setup process!

How to set up a Custom Domain?

Step 1 – Go to Custom Domain settings

Once you’re logged into your Certifier Dashboard, navigate to the Workspace Settings → Issuer → Custom Domain.

Step 2 – Enter your domain

In the Custom Domain section, enter the domain or subdomain you want to use, then click Next.

💡 We recommend using a subdomain for this purpose, for example: certificates.yourcompanydomain.com

⚠️ Important note: as soon as the custom domain is set up, all your certificates will be hosted under it. If you need to reset the custom domain, please contact us at [email protected].

Step 3 – Add the DNS records

On the next step, you'll see 2-3 DNS records, which need to be added in your Domain Provider's DNS Settings.

1. TXT record

To confirm domain ownership, you'll need to add the listed TXT record on the side. This record allows Certifier to validate your control of the domain:

2. CNAME record

Add a CNAME record to complete the setup. The CNAME record allows Certifier to connect your subdomain to our platform:

CNAME propagation may take 30 to 60 minutes, depending on your DNS provider.

⚠️ Important note: You don't need to create a separate subdomain on your DNS provider side. Subdomain creation automatically adds an A record pointing to your DNS provider's IP. It will conflict with the CNAME record we're trying to create.

3. The additional TXT record (only if your domain uses Vercel)

You will only see this record if it's necessary for your setup. If so, add it just like you did for the first TXT record.

🕐 Please allow DNS records to propagate for around 5 minutes. After that, the status of your records will change from “Pending” to “Active”.

Step 4 – Confirm the setup

Once all the records are Active, you should see a confirmation:

Good job! You’ve successfully set up your custom domain. Your certificates are now fully hosted under your own brand.

The final result looks like this:
