⚠️ Important note: Our video guides mention using Groups, which are now called Credential Templates. No need to worry!

Only the name changes – the setup process is the same.

Getting Started with Zoom Automations

Certifier Automations follow a simple “trigger → action” logic.

  • A trigger happens in Zoom (for example, a meeting or webinar ends).

  • An action happens in Certifier (for example, issuing a credential).

Currently, there are two available triggers for Zoom:

Trigger: Meeting Ended

Whenever a meeting in your connected Zoom account ends, this trigger issues a credential for participants.

Step 1. Configure the Trigger

  1. Open the Trigger Configuration and select Zoom as the app, then choose Meeting ended as the event.

  2. Connect your Zoom account via OAuth: click on the Account field → +Connect New Account, sign in as an account admin, and approve access.

  3. Click Save & Continue. Your trigger is ready. 🎉

Step 2. Configure the Action

Next, you’ll need to configure the action. To do so, open this guide in a new tab: Configuring Certifier Action: Issue Credential

⚠️ Important: The instructions for this step are laid out in a separate guide.

We recommend opening the action setup guide in a new tab so you can easily return to this article afterwards. Once you finish configuring the action, make sure to come back here to finalize and activate your automation.

Important Notes

  • The trigger runs when a meeting ends. Certifier collects participant data and issues credentials to attendees.

  • If a meeting has no attendees, no credentials are issued.

  • Hosts are excluded by default. You can keep this on to avoid issuing credentials to the meeting host.

  • Attendees without an email in Zoom will not receive credentials.

  • The trigger applies to all meetings under the connected Zoom account.

Trigger: Webinar Ended

When a selected Zoom webinar ends, this trigger issues a credential to the webinar attendees (listeners). Panelists are not included.

Step 1. Configure the Trigger

  1. Open the Trigger Configuration and select Zoom as the app, then choose Webinar ended as the event.

  2. Connect your Zoom account via OAuth: click on the Account field → +Connect New Account, sign in as an account admin, and approve access.

  3. Select the Webinar to monitor from the list.

  • Requires the Zoom Webinars add-on on your Zoom account.

  • Works with recurring webinars. Certifier will detect the correct occurrence automatically.

  • Panelists are not issued credentials via this trigger.

  • Attendees without an email in Zoom will not receive credentials.

Wrapping Up

That’s it! 🎓

With Zoom triggers in Certifier Automations, you can automatically issue credentials when meetings or webinars end — ensuring recognition for attendance and completion is always timely and consistent.
