Getting Started with Zoom Automations
Certifier Automations follow a simple “trigger → action” logic.
A trigger happens in Zoom (for example, a meeting or webinar ends).
An action happens in Certifier (for example, issuing a credential).
Currently, there are two available triggers for Zoom:
How to Install the Certifier Zoom App
Visit the Zoom App Marketplace.
Search for Certifier and open the app listing.
3. Click Add and sign in with your Zoom account.
4. Review and approve the requested permissions.
You'll be redirected back to Certifier with your Zoom account connected. It's time to configure the Automation!
Trigger: Meeting Ended
Whenever a meeting in your connected Zoom account ends, this trigger issues a credential for participants.
Step 1. Configure the Trigger
Open the Trigger Configuration and select Zoom as the app, then choose Meeting ended as the event.
Connect your Zoom account via OAuth: click Connect Zoom, sign in as an account admin, and approve access.
Click Submit. Your trigger is ready. 🎉
Step 3. Configure the Action
Next, you’ll need to configure the action. To do so, open this guide in a new tab: How to set up the Issue Credential Action.
⚠️ Important: The instructions for this step are laid down in a separate guide
We recommend opening the action setup guide in a new tab so you can easily return to this article afterwards. Once you finish configuring the action, make sure to come back here to finalize and activate your automation.
Important Notes
The trigger runs when a meeting ends. Certifier collects participant data and issues credentials to attendees.
If a meeting has no attendees, no credentials are issued.
Hosts are excluded by default. You can keep this on to avoid issuing credentials to the meeting host.
Attendees without an email in Zoom will not receive credentials.
The trigger applies to all meetings under the connected Zoom account.
Trigger: Webinar Ended
When a selected Zoom webinar ends, this trigger issues a credential to the webinar attendees (listeners). Panelists are not included.
Step 1. Configure the Trigger
Open the Trigger Configuration and select Zoom as the app, then choose Webinar ended as the event.
Connect your Zoom account via OAuth: click Connect Zoom, sign in as an account admin, and approve access.
Press on the + Webinar prop and select the Webinar to monitor from the list.
⚠️ Important: Selecting the +Webinar option from Optional Props is required. If none is selected, you will not be able to proceed.
Click Submit. Your trigger is ready. 🎉
Step 2.
Requires the Zoom Webinars add-on on your Zoom account.
Works with recurring webinars. Certifier will detect the correct occurrence automatically.
Panelists are not issued credentials via this trigger.
Attendees without an email in Zoom will not receive credentials.
How to Remove the Certifier Zoom App
Option 1: Delete Automation
In Certifier, go to your Zoom automation and click the Delete button. This will deactivate and remove your automation.
Option 2: Remove Integration in Zoom
Go to the Zoom Installed Apps page, find Certifier in the list, and press Remove.
Zoom will revoke permissions and remove the integration.
💡 You can reconnect your Zoom account at any time by following the installation steps above.
