Limits & Setup

How many Credential Templates can I create?

The limit of active Credential Templates depends on your subscription plan. You can create:

  • Up to 5 Credential Templates on the Starter plan.

  • Up to 100 Credential Templates on the Professional plan.

  • Unlimited Credential Templates on the Advanced plan.

This limit does not reset.

When you hit the limit, you should consider reusing existing Credential Templates or upgrading to a higher plan.

Can I use multiple designs in one Credential Template? How many?

Yes! The number depends on your plan:

  • Starter plan: up to 2 designs per Credential Template

  • Professional and Advanced plans: up to 10 designs per Credential Template

You can mix and match freely: two certificates, two badges, or one of each are all valid combinations.

💡If you also need to attach downloadable supporting documents – like a syllabus, course description, or reading list – that's what PDF Attachments are for. They're a great complement to multiple designs.

If your goal is to give multiple certificates or badges reflecting different levels of achievement, you can use multiple Credential Templates or Pathways.

How to preview my Credential Template before issuing credentials?

You'll just need to enter your Credential Template and press the Preview button:

How to duplicate a Credential Template?

You can easily duplicate a Credential Template in a few simple steps:

  1. Find the Credential Template you're interested in.

  2. Click on Options (⋮) → Duplicate.

  3. Adjust the settings and other details.

  4. Press save. And that's it!

Management

Can I delete a Credential Template?

You won’t be able to delete a Credential Template if it has certificates issued with it. To delete the Credential Template, start by deleting all the certificates linked to it. After that, you’ll be able to delete the Credential Template itself.

Think of it like a chain:

Design → Credential Template → Issued Certificate

You need to delete from the end of the chain (certificates) first before removing the Credential Template.

When should I reuse a Credential Template?

Reusing Credential Templates allows you to issue credentials for recurring events or training without creating a new Credential Template each time. This helps you stay within your plan’s Credential Templates limit and makes the whole issuing process faster and easier to manage.

Best practices for reusing Credential Templates:

  • Create one Credential Template per credential type, not per session or recipient list. For example, if you run a recurring webinar, use the same Template for every session.

  • Use dynamic fields and custom attributes (like [event_name] or [issue_date]) to personalize credentials automatically for each issuance.

  • Avoid putting session-specific info in Credential Templates' titles or descriptions unless you plan to create a new Credential Template for every event.

Reuse a Credential Template whenever:

  • The certificate or badge design stays the same (only the dynamic attributes change).

  • The purpose of the credential remains consistent (e.g., same course or certification type).

  • You’re simply issuing credentials to a new list of recipients.

Create a new Credential Template only when you plan to use a different design, email template, or Credential details — or if no existing Credential Template fits your needs.

Can I update the Credential Template after I have issued credentials?

Yes, you can update your Credential Template even after credentials have been issued. Any changes you make will automatically show up on all previously issued credentials – no need to resend anything.
