Introduction
Some Certifier automations need more access to your HubSpot account than before. For example, the Update contact property action needs permission to make changes to your contacts.
If you connected HubSpot to Certifier before this action was available, you need to approve the new permission before you can use it. Your existing automations keep running in the meantime.
When You Need This
You'll see one of these messages:
In Certifier: This account needs more permissions when you set up a HubSpot action.
In HubSpot: Authorization failed when you try to grant permissions or reconnect your HubSpot account.
⚠️ Note: HubSpot only lets a Super Admin approve new permissions for an app that's already installed. If you're not a Super Admin in your HubSpot account, ask one to complete Step 1 for you.
In the Certifier permissions message, click "Not a Super Admin? Copy these steps for your admin" to copy instructions you can send them.
Step-by-step configuration
Step 1. Approve the New Permission in HubSpot
In your HubSpot account, click the settings icon in the top navigation bar.
In the left sidebar, go to Integrations › Connected apps.
Open the Approved apps tab.
Find Certifier and click Manage access.
Open Data permissions.
Turn on Create, delete, or make changes to contacts.
Click Save changes.
Step 2. Grant the Permission in Certifier
Go back to Certifier and open the HubSpot action in your automation.
In the This account needs more permissions message, click Grant permissions.
In the HubSpot window that opens, choose the same HubSpot account and click Connect app.
When you see Permissions granted, the action settings appear. Certifier updates your existing HubSpot connection, so automations that already use it don't need any changes.
