Image Formats & Sizes

What size is recommended for certificates?

Certificates in Certifier can be created in two formats:

  • A4 (210 ร— 297 mm or 8.27 ร— 11.69 in)

  • US Letter (8.5 ร— 11 in)

Additionally, you can choose between horizontal and vertical orientation.

If you choose to import a different size of the background, no worries - it will be adjusted to fit the size.

What size is recommended for badges?

Badges are generally 1500 ร— 1500 pixels.

What file formats does Certifier support?

We support the following image formats for all uploads:

  • SVG

  • PNG

  • JPG

These can be used in badges, certificates, and custom design elements.

We recommend using SVG files whenever possible (especially for logos, icons, and graphical elements) because they:

  • Are resolution-independent (no quality loss)

  • Keep file sizes low

  • Look great at any zoom level

Is there a file size limit for images?

Yes - each uploaded image must be under 2 MB. To stay within this limit:

  • Optimize PNG/JPG files before uploading

  • Use SVG for icons, logos, and other vector graphics

Can I use transparent images?

Yes, transparent PNGs and SVGs are supported. This is especially useful for:

  • Logo overlays

  • Signatures

  • Seals or stamps

Make sure the contrast works well with your background.

Use Cases

Can I create a two-page certificate?

Yes! To create a two-page certificate, simply design each page as a separate design in the Design Builder, then attach both designs to the same Credential Template. Your recipients will see both pages in their Digital Wallet.

This works just as well for any multi-page format โ€” a certificate with a back page, a credential paired with a detailed transcript, or any other combination you have in mind.
