💡 When your recipients receive a certificate or badge, they can share it on LinkedIn in just a few clicks - no account creation required. This seamless experience means higher share rates and more visibility for your brand.

How Recipients can share on LinkedIn

All Certifier credentials can be easily shared on LinkedIn in two ways:

  1. As a LinkedIn post (great for visibility and engagement):

  2. To the Licenses & Certifications section of a LinkedIn profile (increases job opportunities for graduates):

📓 Anyone with the link can share the credentials, not just the recipient. This helps increase visibility and engagement, but if needed, social sharing can be restricted in Group → Advanced Settings (available on Professional plan and above).

Boosting Impact with Your LinkedIn Company ID

You can also make sure that each credential added to your Recipient's profile can be easily traced back to you as an issuer. Linking your company’s LinkedIn ID makes every share more powerful by guiding users back to your company page and improving credibility.

How to set it up:

  1. Go to your company’s LinkedIn profile (as an admin).

  2. Copy the numbers in the URL just before “/admin”.

  3. In Certifier, go to Settings → Issuer → General Information (direct link).

  4. Paste the ID in the LinkedIn Company ID field and save.

Customizing the Default LinkedIn Share Message

👑 Advanced Settings are available for our Professional plan or higher users.

If you want to, you can also customize the message shown when your recipients share credentials as LinkedIn posts.

Go to Groups tab → Select the Group you want to change → Advanced Settings and scroll to Default LinkedIn Share Message.

Here you can set a tailored message that will appear in the share dialog - perfect for highlighting your program or mission.

Can I disable sharing on LinkedIn?

👑 Advanced Settings are available for our Professional plan or higher users.

If you don't want your recipients to share your credentials at all, you can restrict social media sharing completely in Group → Select the Group you want to change → Advanced Settings. Then, unfold the "Allow Sharing on Social Media" settings, and disable LinkedIn options:

You can also disable sharing altogether - when disabled:

  • Share buttons will no longer appear on the credential page.

  • Neither owners nor viewers will be able to share on LinkedIn or other platforms.

Can the credentials be shared on other platforms?

LinkedIn is not the only platform your recipients can share their certificates and badges on - with just one click, they can start creating a post on X or Facebook, as well as share it via Messenger, WhatsApp, Pinterest, Telegram, or Weibo:

📓 Sharing settings can also be adjusted for specific platforms in the Advanced Settings section of your group.

FAQ

Can anyone share the certificate or badge, or just the recipient?

  • We understand it might be surprising, but both the credential owner and anyone with the link can share the certificate or badge. This is by design, and it's done to maximize visibility and engagement.

Since credentials are meant to be publicly recognized achievements, allowing open sharing helps your recipients celebrate their success, and helps you amplify your brand, reach, and credibility at the same time. The share buttons are always available on the credential page, and no login is ever required.

If you'd prefer to restrict this functionality, you can do so in Group → Advanced Settings by disabling social sharing entirely.

Why don’t skills appear on LinkedIn when a credential is shared?

  • Skills added to credentials in Certifier appear on the credential page but do not auto-fill in LinkedIn’s interface due to platform limitations. Your recipients can still manually add them when posting.

When recipients share my certificates on LinkedIn, it's not showing my profile picture (logo). Why?

  • There is a chance that you haven't linked your LinkedIn profile to your credentials yet. To do so:

    1. Log in to your company’s LinkedIn page as an admin.
    2. Copy the LinkedIn Company ID (the number in the URL before /admin).
    3. Go to Settings → Issuer → General Information in your Certifier account.
    4. Paste the ID into the LinkedIn Company ID field and save.

Once you do that, all the certificates shared by your recipients moving forward will be connected to your LinkedIn account.

Can I customize the LinkedIn post message my recipients use?

  • Yes - if you're on the Professional plan or higher. Go to your Group → Advanced Settings and set a Default LinkedIn Share Message that will auto-fill when recipients choose to share their award as a LinkedIn post.

Can I customize the post messages for other platforms?

  • As of now, it's only possible to personalize the default share message for LinkedIn.
