Let's say that you have already created a set of beautiful certificates that you want to keep using - now, with the help of our platform.
In Certifier's design builder, you can easily upload your own designs, and then add custom elements to fill with your recipients' data. Instead of doing that manually, you'll be able to do it in a few seconds!
You will just need to follow these 5 simple steps:
Let's dive in!
1. Preparing your Design
The best way to start is to prepare a version of your certificate with only the background - for the best results, all the dynamic elements and texts should be added in our editor.
So, for example, if your design looks like this:
You should go back to the editor you used and extract just the base of your design:
Once that's done, save the design as JPG, SVG or PNG file. Make sure the size does not exceed 2MB!
๐กTip: To make sure your certificates are generated in the highest quality possible, we recommend uploading files in the SVG format.
2. Uploading your background to Certifier
Now that your design is ready, it's time to add it to our Design Builder. To do so, you'll just need to:
Log in to your Certifier Dashboard and navigate to the Designs tab. There, just click on + Create Design โ Certificate Design:
โ๏ธNote: Your changes will not be saved unless you press Create design (next to the design name) to save them.
Select the page orientation (Landscape or Portrait),
Choose the blank template,
Click on Add Custom Background and upload your design.
And that's it - your background is ready! Now, let's go ahead and add all the details ๐ค
๐กTip: Want to start from scratch? You can change the background color by selecting it from the color scale or pasting the HEX code:
3. Adding Graphic Elements and Texts
The next step is adding the graphic elements like your logo, signatures, text details, as well as any shapes you may want. It's time to use Images, Elements, and Text sections!
Let's go through them one by one:
Adding images
In the Images section, you can upload images like signatures or company logos, and arrange them however you want to. Just click on Upload Image, and select the one you want to use!
After you add your images, you can find them all on the left-side panel for easy navigation.
โ๏ธNote: We accept JPG, SVG, and PNG files. The maximum size of the element is 2 MB.
๐ก Tip: If you want to remove the background from your images, check this guide for more details!
Adding Text
Switch to the Text section to start adding your static text elements. Once you add any text, you can freely adjust details like fonts, size, colors, and alignment!
๐ก Want to use your custom fonts? You'll be able to upload them on our Advanced plan! Learn more about plans here.
Skip the dynamic parts (like recipient name or dates) for now - they will be added using custom attributes in the next step!
๐กTip: You can save more time by using our handy combinations - skip the tiresome part of entering everything by hand, and edit them to fit your project:
Adding Elements
In the Elements section, you can add more elements to make your design even more appealing - browse through categories like lines, shapes, icons, ribbons, and bases to choose the elements that work best for your designs!
You can freely change the shape, size, and colors of all the elements.
4. Adding Dynamic Attributes
It's time to get to the best part - dynamic attributes! Attributes are dynamic elements that you can use to create and personalize issued certificates.
You may have already noticed the most important one - the recipient's name.
This attribute will be replaced with the real name of your recipient. Thus, this attribute is obligatory for bulk certificate sending.
๐กTip: You can learn more about the custom attributes here!
Once you get to this section, you'll be able to add all the text elements that you want to be filled with your recipients' data. To do so, just click on the Use button next to the attribute:
You can also create Custom Attributes by clicking on the + Add attribute button. This feature is useful if you need to add custom variables to your certificates (like Instructor name, Level of Training, or Location).
๐ก Tip: You can also use dynamic attributes as parts of your text for more personalization! For example, the [group.name] attribute will be replaced by the name you will give to your group:
Once you add the custom attributes, make sure to adjust the Alignment (Left/Center/Right) - it will affect the way how the text is displayed in the attribute container.
Finally, decide if youโd like to have Scaling enabled. Auto-scaling means that the text size is dynamic and automatically adjusts to the size of the container.
โ๏ธNote: We recommend keeping Scaling enabled to ensure that the content of the attribute is displayed properly.
Once you're happy with your design, remember to press Save!
5. Issuing your Certificates
Now that your design is ready, it's time to issue it. To do so, you will just need to create a Group and add your recipients. All the dynamic attributes will be filled in, and sent to your recipients in a few simple clicks!
