👑 Custom Domain is available as a paid add-on in our Professional plan and is included in the Advanced plan.

Introduction

If you want to deliver a seamless and fully branded experience to your recipients, setting up a custom domain is a great place to start.

With it, your credentials will be hosted under your own domain - like certificates.yourcompany.com - helping you boost trust and maintain a consistent brand presence.

In this guide, we’ll walk you through each step of the setup process!

How to set up a Custom Domain?

Step 1 – Go to Custom Domain settings

Once you’re logged into your Certifier Dashboard, navigate to the Profile → Settings menu at the top right corner of your screen.

Then, locate the Issuer tab and select Custom Domain from the menu:

Step 2 – Enter your domain

In the Custom Domain section, enter the domain or subdomain you want to use, then click Next.

💡 We recommend using a subdomain for this purpose, for example: certificates.yourcompany.com

⚠️ Please note: as soon as the custom domain is set up, all your certificates will be hosted under it. If you need to reset the custom domain, please contact us at [email protected].

Step 3 – Verify domain ownership with TXT records

To confirm domain ownership, you'll need to add two TXT records on the side of your DNS provider. These records allow Certifier to validate your control of the domain:

🕐 Please allow DNS records to propagate for around 5 minutes. After that, the status of your records will change from “Pending Validation” to “Active”.

Step 4 – Add the CNAME record to finish the validation process.

⚠️ Please note: You don't need to create a separate subdomain on your DNS provider side. Subdomain creation automatically adds an A record pointing to your DNS provider's IP. It will conflict with the CNAME record we're trying to create.

After verifying the TXT records, add a CNAME record to complete the setup.

The CNAME record allows Certifier to connect your subdomain to our platform.

CNAME propagation may take 30 to 60 minutes, depending on your DNS provider. Once you've added the record, click on Verify CNAME to finish the process. Once done, the status will be changed to “Reachable”:

⚠️ Please note: some DNS providers do not allow having two conflicting CNAME/TXT records. In this case, please remove the TXT record for your subdomain once the verification is completed. After that, you may move on to the third step and add a CNAME record.

Good job! You’ve successfully set up your custom domain. Your certificates are now fully hosted under your own brand.

The final result looks like this:
